Join Us in Making a Difference in Our Community! We are looking for volunteers to support our local community initiatives. Whether you have a few hours a week or a couple of hours a month to spare, we would love to have you on board! Our children’s and families project runs a variety of different outreach services, listed below in more detail.

Our ladies drop in runs on a Thursday afternoon at Ladywood Methodist church. We support women in the area who might be isolated or new to Ladywood., giving them an opportunity to learn about services in the area and also engage in activities and crafts.

Alongside our drop in, we run a befriending service for those in the Ladywood community who may be isolated. This includes home visits and trips out into the local area. We also support with signposting to relevant services, advocacy and anything else that may build further engagement in their community.

ESOL – This is a weekly class, friendly and welcoming, for those who don’t have English as a first language. Classes are free and we provide a crèche for under 5s in the same hall. You do not need to have any qualifications and will supported by the ESOL teacher. Every Friday morning during term time.

Karis Baby Bank is a provision for families with newborns and infants up to the age of two years old who are facing hardship and/or crisis which means they need help with essentials for their baby. This provision is based on referrals from other organisations and groups. Our volunteers support with sorting donations and making up parcels.

Baby bank club is an ongoing service for those who may struggle to afford essentials for their baby. By paying a small subscription fee each year, service users can buy formula, wipes and nappies at a reduced rate. Volunteers will support with setting up the products and supporting service users with collecting their goods.
