Description
Anawim is a Birmingham-based charity that provides gender-informed and trauma-responsive support to women, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Last year, Anawim supported more than 2,100 women through advocacy, counselling, crisis intervention, and specialist long-term support in both community and secure settings.
At the heart of Anawim is a welcoming drop-in service, where women can access support for a wide range of needs, including safety, housing, finances, food, mental health, and wellbeing. The organisation also offers counselling, group activities, courses, and practical support, creating a safe space where women can connect, learn, and rebuild their lives.
As Anawim approaches its 40th anniversary, we are looking to expand our team of volunteers and are seeking enthusiastic individuals who would like to support our work across a variety of services and events.
Volunteer Opportunities May Include:
- Supporting fundraising, awareness, and community events
- Welcoming and assisting attendees at events and activities
- Helping with the set-up and pack-down of events
- Providing practical support to different teams across the organisation
- Assisting with group activities, courses, and community projects
- Supporting administrative or behind-the-scenes tasks where required
- Helping raise awareness of Anawim’s work within the local community
