Shelanu is a welcoming women’s craft collective that supports migrant and refugee women through creative activities, skills development, and community connection. We are looking for a volunteer to join our friendly visual arts team and help deliver engaging craft sessions while supporting members to build confidence, creativity, and friendships.
Working alongside our Exhibitions and Projects Development Manager, you will play an important role in helping the collective run smoothly and continue creating beautiful handcrafted work.
Volunteer Duties May Include:
- Reviewing, maintaining, and creating new stock for Shelanu’s jewellery collections, including Migrating Birds, Interlocking Stories, and Nurture
- Preparing equipment and materials for weekly sessions and external workshops
- Supporting members with craft and jewellery-making activities
- Documenting sessions and activities for social media
- Assisting with materials inventory, stock management, and ordering supplies
- Supporting planning and preparation for future projects and events

- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A friendly, supportive, and inclusive approach
- Confidence working as part of a team
- Reliability and a commitment to building positive relationships with members
