Description
The Girl Glow Project supports young women aged 16-25 and the #Women1st project for women over 25, by providing emotional wellbeing support through one-to-one mentoring, counselling, group meet-ups, and wellbeing activities. Our aim is to help women build confidence, improve their wellbeing, and feel supported as they navigate life’s challenges.
We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate women aged 16 and over to volunteer as Mentors and support participants within the programme. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in another woman’s life while developing your own confidence, communication, and leadership skills.
As a Mentor, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and companionship to women participating in the projects, helping them to feel supported and empowered.
Volunteer Duties May Include:
- Building positive and supportive relationships with women in the programmes
- Providing encouragement, guidance, and peer support
- Attending one-to-one mentoring sessions
- Supporting wellbeing activities and group meet-ups
- Helping participants build confidence and resilience
- Signposting participants to appropriate support where needed
- Acting as a positive role model and trusted source of support
What We’re Looking For
- Female volunteers
- A friendly, compassionate, and non-judgemental attitude
- Good listening and communication skills
- Reliability and a commitment to supporting others
- An interest in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing
- A willingness to learn and work as part of a supportive team
No previous mentoring experience is required. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Additional Information
The programmes begin in November. Mentoring sessions are currently planned to take place on Mondays or Tuesdays between 1:00pm and 5:00pm, although days and times can be flexible to suit volunteers and participants where possible.
