Bethany Community Outreach runs a food bank that supports over 1,000 people every month. Through the generosity of volunteers and supporters, the organisation helps provide essential food and support to individuals and families across the local community.
We are looking for volunteers to support our food bank in a variety of roles, including van collection drivers, warehouse volunteers, and bid writers. Whether you can offer practical support or professional skills, your time can make a real difference.
Volunteer Duties May Include:
Collecting food donations using the community van
Loading and unloading food donations
Packing and sorting food ready for distribution
Organising stock within the warehouse
Supporting the day-to-day running of the food bank
Researching and writing funding applications
Identifying grant and funding opportunities
Supporting fundraising and sustainability efforts
What We’re Looking For
A friendly and positive attitude
Reliability and a willingness to help
Good communication and organisational skills
The ability to work as part of a team
An interest in supporting people within the local community
For bid writing roles, experience in writing funding applications is welcomed but not essential
No previous experience is required for warehouse or van collection roles, and support will be provided.

Additional Information
Van collection volunteers are needed from approximately 6:45am until 9:30am on most days, although some flexibility is available.
Warehouse volunteers are needed Monday to Friday from 7:30am, with most sessions finishing by 1:00pm.
Bid writers can support the organisation flexibly, helping secure funding to meet increasing costs such as rent, energy bills, and other running expenses.
