Smart Works Birmingham supports unemployed women into work by providing high-quality interview clothing, interview preparation, and career coaching. Through practical support and encouragement, we help women build confidence, develop their skills, and secure employment opportunities.
We are looking for enthusiastic and supportive volunteers to join our team and help women on their journey towards employment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life by helping them gain the confidence, skills, and support they need to succeed.
Volunteer Duties May Include:
- Supporting clients with interview preparation and confidence-building
- Assisting with CV writing, cover letters, and job applications
- Providing career coaching and employability support
- Helping clients identify and develop their skills and strengths
- Offering encouragement and practical guidance throughout the job-seeking process
- Supporting the delivery of Smart Works Birmingham services and events
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, approachable, and supportive attitude
- Good communication and listening skills
- An interest in helping women achieve their employment goals
- Reliability and a willingness to commit to approximately two days per month, where possible
- Confidence working with people from a range of backgrounds and experiences
Previous experience in recruitment, coaching, HR, or employability support can be helpful but is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Additional Information
Volunteers are asked to commit to approximately two days per month where possible. Flexible opportunities are available, and full training will be provided before you begin volunteering.
