A year and counting – my first 365 days as Executive Director for LoveBrum

It’s been a whole 365 days since I walked into charming, Digbeth-based LoveBrum HQ for my first day as Executive Director. I feel truly privileged to be leading an organisation that has such great values at its core. Birmingham is an incredible city, where the people are passionate and the city scape is constantly changing. In fact, as a Southerner coming into the city, I feel torn to share my views on how great Birmingham truly is as I feel like I want to keep it a bit of a hidden-gem!

Hidden-gems are at the heart of LoveBrum, as we work to shine a light on the numerous small projects across the breadth of the city that seek to make positive change and help to enhance the lives of local people and build stronger communities. Each and every project we support plays a role in making Birmingham even better.

I have to say a big thank you to my hardworking team who keep me in check and are genuinely bigger control freaks than I am (and that is a scary concept!). They are the are cogs that make the LoveBrum wheel turn.

It would also be remiss of me not to acknowledge the constant support and ideas generated from the inspirational Board of Trustees. From the foundations of the idea for the charity laid down by Tim Andrews and PJ Ellis, this group of well connected and truly passionate people spend their time, energy and efforts to grow the innovative vision.

Finally, it is really important to mention the amazing patrons and corporate supporters, members and volunteers that support the work we do. Without their continued financial support and actions that support our activity, we simply wouldn’t exist.

Check out our latest annual report to see what a difference LoveBrum has made in Birmingham, as well as our exciting plans for the future. We want to be able to do even more, but need your support! If you’d like to get involved then contact us at LoveBrum HQ to see how you can help to make Birmingham even better!

Thank you, Birmingham!

Paul
