Top 10 things to do in Birmingham this Easter

Easter is upon us, and if you’re lucky that means four fantastic days off work, and as always there’s plenty going on in Birmingham to keep you busy.

Birmingham is the place to be this Easter, with loads of great things to do in the city, including over the Bank Holiday weekend, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday! Our top 10 Easter activities include something for everyone, including days out for the kids and the family, through to restaurants and special offers… even if the children aren’t in tow.  Let us know what you are up to this Easter holiday!

1. Cannon Hill Park

If family fun is your thing, then why not pay a visit to the Fun Park at Cannon Hill Park!  The mini-golf is just brilliant, even the grumpy teenagers will enjoy it! Or if your children are a little bit younger, there are a number of rides and attractions.  Or if you are kid-free, the swan boats on Cannon Hill Park lake are a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.


2. Sea Life Centre – New ‘Jelly Invaders’

Birmingham’s Sea Life centre has a brand new exhibit – jelly invaders! Dive in to a world of slime, stingers, and brainless jelly!  Uncover their mysterious abilities, including despite having no brains or bones, these dazzling creatures are resilient survivors, even outliving dinosaurs!

3. Resorts World – Chocolate Weekender

7. Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery – Roman Object Handling

Take a closer look at some of the fascinating things used in Roman Times!  Find out what equipment a Roman soldier would need, how a Roman lit up their homes, what they wrote on and even what they used instead of toilet paper!  Object handling is a great chance for families to get hands on in the galleries – visitors of all ages are very welcome!

Drop-in from 10.30 – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm, on weekdays during the Easter School Holidays.


8. Meet Peter Rabbit at Selfridges Birmingham

9. Canal cruise

Be a tourist in your own city and take a canal cruise.  See our city from a completely different vantage point, take in the sights and relax with a glass of something nice, or even just a warming hot chocolate and imagine what Birmingham was like in a time when they relied on the canal network for transport and industry. Narrowboats will depart from the International Convention Centre Quayside, opposite Brindley Place.

10. Cadbury World – Live Shows!

Cadbury World has some great Easter activities to keep the little ones entertained, including fantastic live shows featuring some favourite Cadbury’s characters, including Freddo, Caramel Bunny and so many more!  You can even enjoy breakfast with the Cadbury characters!
