Patron Profile: MediaCom

By Holly Moulton

Here at LoveBrum, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that MediaCom has joined LoveBrum as a Patron!

With their support, we can continue LoveBrum’s vital work within Brum. Thank you, MediaCom.

Following the news, we caught up with MediaCom North’s Managing Partner, Steve Hadfield, to discuss our new partnership, COVID and positive changes ahead….

Tell us about your company and what it is you do?

We are a global media agency with five offices in the UK and I run our Birmingham office, which is based in the city centre on Colmore Row. We work with an array of companies – from the world’s most iconic brands right through to our more localised clients. At MediaCom we help our clients grow by seeing the bigger picture. We like to challenge conventional thinking to build, optimise and drive our clients’ businesses forward at scale. We can deliver results in the short-term and the long-term, helping with everything from e-commerce to brand health.

What does the Birmingham/Midlands region mean to you?

Having moved to the Midlands region 11 years ago after so many years in London I was, like many before me, completely taken with this city. The energy, hopefulness and diversity that Birmingham provides is wonderful. The rapid change that has been seen in the last decade is perhaps nothing to what it is coming in the next 10 years. Landmark projects such as HS2, coupled with the sheer excitement of Birmingham hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games, mean that more and more opportunities will present themselves and the city/region will continue to thrive.

Why have you chosen to support LoveBrum and become a Patron?

Firstly, we are delighted that we can play our own small part in helping LoveBrum make a difference within Birmingham and the Midlands. As the UK’s largest media agency, we’re proud to have one of our offices here in the second city and want to continue to build on its success through the wonderful talent in the region. LoveBrum plays an important role within Birmingham and the Midlands in supporting projects that don’t often get the support they deserve, and I have been particularly impressed with the passion and energy that is devoted into these causes. As an organisation, the dedication and energy found at LoveBrum is inspiring and if we can play even a small role this year in helping LoveBrum to achieve their goals then I for one will be extremely proud.

What positive changes would you like to see happen?

At MediaCom we are committed to ensuring we are a business fit for the 21st Century. We pride ourselves, for example, on our Apprentice Scheme where we encourage school leavers to forge a career within media across all of our UK offices. LoveBrum’s work in supporting the youth of our regions is incredibly inspiring and so important as we emerge from this current pandemic. Providing a supportive network for a generation that has had its normal expectations and life-shaping events ripped apart by Covid-19 is something that I would love to see LoveBrum focus on over the next 12 months.

Anything else you would like to add?

The impact of Covid-19 has only heightened the importance of the work that LoveBrum undertake within our city and region. They are tireless in their commitment to highlighting and supporting causes in need of help and there are a great many people, families and communities who have and will benefit from LoveBrum just being there for them.
