Tell us about your Company, and what it is you do?

Margetts is an independent specialist fund management business, based in the Jewellery Quarter.  We employ 65 staff and currently have over £5.5bn of assets under management across our own and third party funds.  We focus on technological solutions and use our expertise to provide investments that achieve their objectives and provide value for investors.  We work every day towards ensuring that Margetts is the UK’s most respected and trusted independent Authorised Corporate Director with our customers firmly at the heart of everything we do.

What does the Birmingham/ Midlands region mean to you?

Birmingham is at the heart of our business and has been for almost 200 years.  The Margetts name has been a feature of Birmingham business life going back to the early 1800s, following the formation of the Birmingham Stock Exchange in 1845.  We are proud to be able to continue this association, with our roots having been established from the Margetts & Addenbrooke stock broking partnership.  We know that by adding value, being kind and smart, fighting for what’s right and enjoying what we do, we can create a positive impact in our wider community.  It is wonderful to be part of a team who share our priorities and want to make the people of the second city feel like number 1.

Why did you want to get involved with Lovebrum?

We are delighted to have joined the LoveBrum team who do an incredible job of shedding light on less familiar initiatives in Birmingham.  We believe that by working together with our community, we can create a meaningful change for the better. 

What positive changes would you like to see in Birmingham?

We are so excited for the opportunity to support a range of initiatives in Birmingham, including helping those who are suffering both physically and mentally and those who are struggling with employability and financial security. We are also very pleased that LoveBrum have given us a platform to show support for our wider community and environment as well as encouragement for the arts scene who highlight what a beautiful, fun and thoughtful place Birmingham is.
