Meet the Team: Hannah Floyd
Our incredible charity ambassadors play a key role in helping LoveBrum to increase awareness, sharing the LoveBrum story to their communities and across their social and business networks.
Hannah Floyd is Director of Business Development at Sylter Ltd. and recent winner of Female Networker of the Year and the City of Birmingham Business Awards 2019. On top of that, she’s an avid supporter of LoveBrum and a loyal ambassdor.
Find out why Hannah loves Brum…
What’s your background and where are you based?
I have worked in the industry since 2008, working in both project management and sales for 7 years and then moving into the world of business development 4 years ago. Sylter is based on Temple Street in the city centre and I feel so passionate about how far this city has come in the past 12 years.
Why do you Love Brum?
I love LoveBrum because I can see the direct effect of their work. Working in Birmingham for all these years, you get to know the local charities from networking and going to events, and learn very quickly how hard it is for them to fundraise in comparison to some of the larger charities. I also strongly believe that LoveBrum plays a part in people being proud of the city and talking about it in a positive way. The people of Birmingham are finally getting good at talking about how amazing the city is, which is so lovely to see.
Why did you choose to become an ambassador of LoveBrum?
I wanted to give back to a city that has presented me with so many opportunities as an individual, and in my career, and what better way to do that than with a bunch of people that are just trying to make Birmingham a better place!
What projects are you passionate about?
I am passionate about the causes that tackle homelessness in the city, as we know that has increased dramatically over the past few years. Once a week, I work with a local charity, Lets Feed Brum, an amazing charity made up of absolute stars that are just trying to get the homeless community the help and recognition they need to better their future.
Tabor House recently received funding from LoveBrum and I have seen the difference that those fund make to small charities.
