LoveBrum won Charity Of The Year!!

We were truly honoured to have been included in this year’s Birmingham Business Awards nominations for Charity Of The Year. We were excited to attend the awards and meet all the wonderful people up for the awards on the night. We met some truly inspirational people, amazing businesses and wonderful charities all doing outstanding things within and for our city!

Within the ‘Charity Of The Year’ sector, LoveBrum were up against some of the most prestigious charities in Birmingham, for LoveBrum to have won this award is beyond remarkable! This is the first award LoveBrum has won and every single person of the team was humbled by the news.

Hear from some of Team LoveBrum and how they feel about winning this award below:

Head of operations, Kathryn: “I am delighted that LoveBrum has been recognised as charity of the year at the most recent COBBA event.  This is our first award since we have been in operation, and that alone will always make this extra special  – we’re accepting this award, not just for ourselves, but for every grass root project unearthed, for every hidden gem funded, and for all the good that there is in Brum” 

LoveBrum founder, PJ Ellis, had this to say “I believe this is LoveBrum’s first ever award, after 7 years of hard work. For that alone it makes the award VERY special. However, even if it wasn’t the first, it’s special because its recognition. Recognition from the city we serve. There isn’t much better than that.”

LoveBrum Chair, Rebecca Simkiss: “Having been part of the LoveBrum journey since inception, and now as Chair, I am absolutely thrilled that we have been recognised as Charity of the Year in the City of Birmingham Business Awards. There are so many people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the charity what it is, and enable us to shine a light on those hidden gem projects and good local causes, who do what they can to make a difference to our amazing city. Our band of brummies is constantly evolving, and this vital recognition will hopefully enable us to grow further and do even more. So this award is shared by everyone who has been part of our journey so far, whether that be our HQ, Trustees, Board Members, Patrons, 0121 Collective members, ambassadors, supporters, and friends.”

We would like to thank everyone that not only nominated us but that voted for us too. Without you all and the recognition we would not be able to support the hidden causes and communities that we do and help to build a better future for our city.

We truly love what we do at LoveBrum, it is a pleasure to meet and help out so many amazing people in our community and allow others to see what they are doing too.
