Find out what inspired Tank Top Media to become patrons and why they love Brum…
Tell us about yourself! What’s your name, background and where you’re based?
We are David Geary and Simon Evans from Tank Top Media, a media planning and buying agency based in Zellig in The Custard Factory in Digbeth. We work with clients to make sure they spend their media budget in the right way and engage with the right people at the right time. Having worked for the Birmingham Post and Mail, and Mirror Regional Newspapers in Birmingham, David has worked in Media and Birmingham most of his adult life. Thankfully we love it though, and the media landscape is constantly changing, making it a really interesting industry. We also get to wear Tank Tops every day too…a little uncomfortable in the summer, mind…when we get one!
Why do you Love Brum?
We just love Brum! I am a born and bred Brummie and feel very passionate about Birmingham and all that it has to offer. Therefore, it was only natural that we wanted get involved and support the fantastic work that LoveBrum are doing to help local causes in Birmingham, something which is close to our hearts. Birmingham is an amazing city, and we didn’t want to miss any opportunity to let people know how great it is.
Where’s your favourite part of the city?
I love the independent scene around where we work in Digbeth – it’s cool but in an understated way. I also really enjoy Colmore Row, at the other end of the spectrum. My favourite place in Birmingham, though, is Sutton Park. It is huge and a great place to get away from it all, yet it is so close to town. Fun Fact – Sutton Park in Birmingham is the largest urban park in Europe!
Why did Tank Top Media choose to become a patron?
We are based in Birmingham, and love the work that LoveBrum do. Being passionate about this great city, we just wanted to get involved and give our support to a great cause that is LoveBrum.
What projects are you passionate about?
I work very closely with a project on the outskirts of Birmingham, near Tamworth, in a village called Elford. It is a project that has restored an old walled garden, bringing it back to life and it is free for anyone to use. I am passionate about all projects in Birmingham really, that are designed to improve the standard of living or the environment that surrounds us.
Becoming a patron of LoveBrum sustains the day-to-day running of our charity and, in return, we position your business at the forefront of LoveBrum. Tank Top Media will join LoveBrum’s impressive, and growing, list of Patrons including Gymshark, Millennium Point, Wesleyan, Prologis and Resorts World.
