This May, Resorts World is sponsoring LoveBrum’s Mental Health month, where we’ll be showcasing three projects in Birmingham that work to combat the stigma that still exists around mental health and support people with ongoing mental health issues.
As part of Resorts World’s Feel Good Weekender on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, Yoga Sweat will host 8 yoga classes in a variety of styles across the weekend inside the Zen Zone. Each class is just £5, with all proceeds going to LoveBrum who are supporting local mental health causes in May. Book here now.
The popular Tuk Cakes pop-up, created by Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off finalist, Darryl Collins, will return to sell smiley chocolate bon bons for the Feel Good Weekender, in addition to feel good framed prints, with all proceeds again going to LoveBrum.
For extra feel good factor and to celebrate the release of the Elton John biopic Rocketman at Cineworld, Resorts World will be joined by an Elton doppelganger singing all the hits live at his piano in the Atrium at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm on Saturday 18th , alongside a full line-up of live entertainment across the weekend.
Resorts World has been an avid supporter of LoveBrum for many years, ensuring that they seize every opportunity of supporting their city. In October 2018, Hannah Green and Jason Hannon braved the pouring rain to run the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run in aid of LoveBrum, raising a fantastic £1,220 even after their colleague Kate Manion broke her hip whilst running the half marathon the previous year just 250 metres from the finish line! Kate still finished the race in 2 hours 10 minutes, with the help of a couple of kind strangers who carried her across the finish line, raising over £450 for LoveBrum!

The whole Resorts World team also jumped at the opportunity to get involved with Bags for Brummies once again in 2018, donating hundreds of items from their employees, as well as essential toiletries from the Resorts World Beauty Outlet. The team really made their mark, however, when they joined LoveBrum’s army of volunteers to help pack the bags with items ready to be donated to Birmingham’s homeless at Christmas.
Earlier this month, Resorts World also hosted LoveBrum’s annual Patrons’ Dinner at Sky By The Water, where our most valued supporters joined LoveBrum’s board of trustees to celebrate 2018 and kick start LoveBrum’s Impact Week. Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner crafted by Head Chef Aaron Darnley in the transformed rooftop bar and restaurant.
Hannah Green, Communications Manager at Resorts World comments:
“It’s an honour for Resorts World to be a patron of LoveBrum. Our main aim is to give our charity time and fundraising focus to those local people and causes who otherwise do not receive the funds or voice they so deserve. Resorts World is a place where we invite Guests to create happy memories with loved ones in their leisure time, leaving external pressures and concerns at the door. Our Feel Good May campaign and Feel Good Weekender are designed with this front of mind.”
Becoming a patron of LoveBrum sustains the day-to-day running of our charity and, in return, we position your business at the forefront of our charity. If your organisation would like to sponsor a month and join LoveBrum’s impressive, and growing, list of Patrons, contact us on 0121 270 5274 or firstname.lastname@example.org.Back to Blog
