Give a little back to the city you love

By Ashleigh Mills

Why volunteer?

For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them.  For others, it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.

Working alongside our team, LoveBrum volunteers are our troops on the ground.  Organising events, hosting events, fundraising, blogging, sorting donations, promotion, photography, videography – we need people for all kinds of roles.  Even if you can only spare a few hours one weekend, your support and time really does go such a long way in having real positive impact in our city

Olivia Nash-Wortham (the lady in red!) joined us at HQ in September, sharing 4 hours of her time per week to support our events.  Her contribution provided the charity with and a friendly face to support our members and an array of creative ideas!  Here’s why she chose to support LoveBrum…

I chose to volunteer because I wanted to give back to the community.

I feel I am very lucky to have a good family, nice up bringing and a chance to learn and develop life skills by travelling and having the ability and chance to go to University.

I have experienced loses and upsets as well as achievements and successes so I can appreciate to a certain extend the variety between the two and due to this wanted to give back by volunteering.

I enjoy interaction with people from all walks of life and volunteering for LoveBrum has allowed me to expand this experience.

Looking to join the LoveBrum community?  Awesome!  Please contact our operations team and let us know when and how you want to help?
