Congratulations March Winners!

By Hannah Whiting

We’re absolutely delighted to announce the winners of March’s Community Safety month!

This month, we introduced you to causes that work to help make us all feel safer in our community.

£2,000 winner – Arrive Alive

Arrive Alive is the only registered charity in the UK solely dedicated to providing emergency medical response vehicles and equipment for medically trained volunteers in Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country.

Arrive Alive is a non government funded charity that supports life saving volunteers – Community First Responders who attend local medical emergencies. These unpaid volunteers are trained to attend 999 calls in those vital seconds/minutes prior to a road or air ambulance, saving many lives.

This funding will help contribute towards their first ever 4×4 emergency vehicle, which will be used for rough terrain, adverse weather conditions and transporting medical personnel to work as and when needed.

£1,000 winner – Unite & Uplift Together

Unite & Uplift Together CIC are committed to changing the lives of young people in Birmingham. Whether this be with sports programmes, mentoring or educational courses.

They provide a positive environment for young people either on the cusp of anti social behaviour or young offenders, often working side by side with local Police.

This funding will help fund a 2 week programme, taking place during half term for young people.

£500 – Central Rescue

Central Rescue UK provides water and land rescue to the local community and surrounding areas in the West Midlands. The team of 15 volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They’re a particular support to West Midlands police, and have become a helping hand during various missing person searches.

This funding from LoveBrum will help replenish their medical stock, to ensure every boat and every member of staff is fully supplied, ready and equipped for any accident and emergency.
