Congratulations December Winners!
Thanks to your votes, we’re thrilled to announce the winners of December’s round of funding!
In December, we showcased three incredible projects that help and support older people in our local community.
£2,000 winner – Selly Oak Live at Home Scheme
Selly Oak Live at Home Scheme tackles the impacts of loneliness and isolation by providing a range of services, community social groups, activities, befriending, assisted shopping and more – for people aged 55 and older living in Selly Oak and the surrounding areas.
£2,000 funding will enable Selly Oak Live at Home Scheme to launch their ‘Soup, Sandwich and Sing-Along’ event, by providing the necessary funds to purchase music and karaoke equipment and to also cover venue rent costs!
£1,000 winner – Moor Pool Heritage Trust
Moor Pool Heritage Trust aims to protect and preserve Moor Pool Harborne, their community allotment project encourages relationships between younger and older residents.
£1,000 funding will enable Moor Pool Heritage Trust to continue and expand their allotment project, tackling social isolation in older residents and encouraging relationships between younger and older Moor Pool residents.
£500 winner –Bromsgrove and Redditch Network – BURT
Bromsgrove Urban Rural Transport, affectionately known as BURT, has been the local community minibus service since 2009. The bus helps residents of Bromsgrove District who are unable to make essential journeys by conventional transport, either because of personal mobility/disability difficulties or because suitable services are not available.
£500 funding will help Bromsgrove and Redditch Network to keep the BURT mini bus on the road. The bus requires constant maintenance and safety checks for their tail-lift, which enables wheelchair users to access their services.
