Together In The Community
“We are grateful for all who have made it possible for so many families to be supported”
Together in the community (TIC) is a strong, community based group, situated in the B44 and surrounding areas of Birmingham.
They have been building cohesion, sharing with one another, and most importantly, had laughter and smiles. They organise events and activities including; trips out, fun days, annual boxing day meals, homeless shoe box project, open air events and much more within the community.
With the help of their valuable volunteers and diverse members, they have provided much needed support to the community.
What is Together in the Community?
Together in the Community was constituted as a community group in 2015, and have since aimed to bring Kingstanding’s community members together at local venues, providing; food, entertainment, clothing and more to the homeless, the elderly and people who are isolated and vulnerable. They also run other community family events, day trips and health information sessions throughout the year.
With the Covid Pandemic, Together in the Community wanted to make sure they were able to carry on supporting their members more than ever. With some members shielding from, self isolating or suffering with the symptoms of coronavirus, or others who are elderly or disabled and unable to go shopping for essential food items, they wanted to be there. Others had lost jobs, and were facing financial hardship – Together in the Community, started offering help in the form of food parcels containing essential items.
If successful, what will you use your LoveBrum funding for?
£2000 will go towards the Food Parcels project, so they can continue to purchase food and essential items for their Community who need it most.
