Sol Cafe

”We believe everybody should have the right to be themselves”

Sol Cafe is a grassroots Pay As You Feel LGBTIQ+ sober community cafe and safe space.  People can come have a substantial healthy vegan meal no matter their situations. Sol Cafe also offers workshops, socials, activities to support and help the community thrive.

What is Sol Cafe?

Sol Cafe opened its doors to the public on the 21st June 2021, and they have been bathed in a warmth and gratitude from the community since then for creating a wholesome safe space for the most marginalised within the community. Feeling the impact Sol Cafe has been having is the energy they draw on to keep on providing the necessary space and platform for the ones who need it the most.

The main aims of the project is to create an inclusive safe space for the most marginalised in the LGBTIQ+ community, Black and POC, neurodivergent, asylum seekers, refugees and homeless.

Sol Cafe aims to create a warm welcoming inclusive space, where people feel comfortable to come, feel included, and meet others. A space where the whole of who you are can be celebrated. The expected impact is to reduce isolation, increase inclusion and a sense of belonging, as well as developing new skills and creating new bonds within the LGBTIQ+ community.

If successful, what will you use your LoveBrum funding for?

£2000 funding would go towards funding the different Activities and groups that the Cafe provides for the Community to ensure they can carry on providing them with a safe space.
