OneBrum: All Saints Youth Project
All Saints Youth Project
“During Covid-19 from the beginning of lockdown we have continued to support both young people and their families under the banner of #homenotalone”
OneBrum Cause, All Saints Youth Project, is a grass roots organisation based in the heart of Kings Heath. Run by staff and volunteers, they provide free integrated activities and support for all young people, young adults with disabilities and their families, working with 350 young people and 200 families a year. All Saints Youth Project aim to listen to young people, support them through difficult times, give them new opportunities, help them to build healthy relationships and have some fun. 50% of their young people have learning disabilities and behaviour issues and when they reach 21 they can join the Inclusion+ group.
Support for the families throughout this pandemic has been so important, and funds from #OneBrum, will enable All Saints Youth Project to keep offering their vital services to those who need them. Through online meetings and activities, telephone calls and texts, delivery of activity and well-being packs, referrals to foodbanks and other resources, zoom meetings, 1-1 meetings outside, counselling sessions and visiting at home on door steps, they have kept in regular touch with over 150 young people, young adults and their families. During August, they ran a successful three-week holiday scheme, outside and social distancing for 30 young people and 20 young adults and are now looking forward to being able to offer these services on site when they can.
