Fur and Feathers
”It would have a massive impact”
Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary was established in 2012 after founder, Lisa, had been rescuing stray cats, as well as those from RSPCA death row, for many years.
What is Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary?
Since 2012, Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary has offered a rescue space to many different types of animals large and small. The site is currently home for animals including horses, pigs, chickens and cats, with ex-battery hens and cats being their main residents. They offer a home to any animal, and will never put a healthy animal down.
The sanctuary is run entirely by volunteers, and receives no funding, running solely on donations.
Their team of volunteers work to rehabilitate and nurture every animal in their rescue until they are able to find them a forever home. This includes animal care at the site, but also providing a foster home for animals, and administration.
If successful, what will you use your LoveBrum funding for?
Unfortunately, due to the recent bad weather we have been experiencing, their hay barn has collapsed and is leaking. The Sanctuary are hoping to fully clear that area, extend the pigs pen, add a new hay barn/muck heap area and also make a safe space and add a few hutches for small furries who are rescued.
This area is a current eyesore as it is the first sight seen as you come into the sanctuary, and they are desperate to make it a nicer area. Adding hutches would mean they could take on extra small furries and help more people with rehoming if they had the extra space – £2000 would enable all this work.
