Cramar Cat Rescue
“We want them to be able to have a good life”
Cramar Cat Rescue, based in Hopwood, aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned and stray cats and Kittens throughout Birmingham.
Who are Cramar Cat Rescue?
The rescue was founded in 1987 to relieve the suffering of cats and kittens in need of care. Every year, cats are being destroyed, simply because they are unwanted, or their owners can no longer afford to care for them, and so the rescue strives to take in these cats and kittens to give them a second chance at life.
The rescue currently has approximately 60 cats in its care that they are unable to rehome, and care for permanently, this is due to them either being semi – feral, or due to experiencing trauma in their early life, and unable to cope in a domestic setting. These cats reside in an area called ‘The Paddocks’, an enclosed open space at the rescue, and receive the same level of care, love and support as the other residents. They each have their own space, access to veterinary care if needed, and human contact with the team at the rescue. The equipment in this area is now in need of replacing due to wear and tear, along with adverse weather conditions. If this area could be updated and improved for the cats in their care, it would enhance their lives, whilst providing them with a safe and secure space for them to continue to be cared for.
If successful, what will you use your LoveBrum funding for?
£2000 would go towards the improvements needed at The Paddocks.
