Central Rescue

“Anybody that needs our help, I will teach them first aid’

Central Rescue UK are a water based charity in the West Midlands, operating water and land searches for missing people and cover first aid within the local community.

What is Central Rescue?

Founded in 2006, Central Rescue UK is a Water Search and Rescue team based at Shard End in Birmingham, comprising solely of volunteers.

Central Rescue UK provides water and land rescue to the local community and surrounding areas in the West Midlands. The team of 15 volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They’re a particular support to West Midlands police, and have become a helping hand during various missing person searches.

They are also a DEFRA declared flood rescue team and West Midlands Emergency Services Flood Response Team.

Of course in order to achieve this, each team member needs to be fully trained – including in the all important, first aid. The team of volunteers are prepared for being put on the spot and responding quickly and effectively when faced with an emergency situation such as a heart attack, choking, drowning or even electrocution. Central Rescue train anyone in first aid, including: sea cadets, scouts, brownies and girl guides.

If successful, what will you use your LoveBrum funding for?

Funding from LoveBrum will help replenish their medical stock, to ensure every boat and every member of staff is fully supplied, ready and equipped for any accident and emergency.

£2,000 would fund medical supplies for each rescue boat.
