Aston Performing Arts Academy
Cost of project
Aston Performing Arts Academy started in 2005 and connects Arts with the local Community. It empowers Young People through Performing and Creative Arts.
What is Aston Performing Arts Academy?
Aston Performing Arts Academy works with Young People and helps them to showcase their talents through performing at prestigious events such as the Midlands Media Awards, the opening of Grand Central Station, and the 10 year Anniversary of the Bull Ring to name a few! They offer music and performance tuition alongside these performances, and work with around 120 young people each week, aged between 6 -24 years old to encourage their self esteem, confidence and their ability in the Arts.
If successful, what will you use your LoveBrum funding for?
As a non funded organisation, Aston Performing Arts Academy often struggle to provide and maintain equipment for their students to be able to use to rehearse with. Every week, Students attend workshop sessions, but they are struggling to cope with the equipment demand as the Academy continues to also grow in numbers. Most of the equipment the academy does have is 10 years old, and in desperate need of replacement. If Aston Performing Arts Academy were successful, the funding would go towards replenishing this equipment, including replacing Microphones and Drum Kits. Additional funding means that they would also be allowed to work with more Young people – the Academy currently has a waiting list of 20+ people!
