Beers for a better Brum!
Craddock’s Brewery has launched a crowdfunder to help set up a not-for-profit pub in central Birmingham called The Good Intent.
Nestled inside the Grade II listed Great Western Arcade, known as Birmingham’s pioneer for independent retail, and home to award winning hidden-gems, it’s the perfect fit for Good Intent’s innovative vision. Craddock’s The Good Intent will hopefully be the first pub of its kind in the UK, donating all of its profits to charities and good causes. The Good Intent has announced that the profits made from the first year of trade will be donated to local charity, LoveBrum.
LoveBrum is a charity for charities, raising and distributing funds to hidden-gem projects and volunteer-led organisations doing amazing things in Birmingham. LoveBrum supports a wide variety of projects every month and works to highlight small projects that don’t usually receive the funding or the platform that they deserve.
LoveBrum’s Executive Director, Paul Mitchell comments:
“LoveBrum is passionate about the city of Birmingham and highlighting the small, but incredible things, that are always going on. This is why we couldn’t be more thrilled to have been chosen by The Good Intent as their first charity partner.
Every penny donated from their profits will be distributed in an open and transparent fashion to small projects across the breadth of the city that all play a role in making Birmingham even better.”

Craddock’s Brewery owner, David Craddock, comments:
“We believe that the project will be able to draw on a great deal of goodwill from the local community. We’re excited by the prospect of being able to raise a glass and help good causes at the same time!
Working with LoveBrum enables our profits to reach a multitude of charitable organisations in the city that seek to make positive change and help to enhance the lives of local people and build stronger communities.”
LoveBrum and The Good Intent are inviting the public along for a sneak peek at their progress on Wednesday 24th July. Guests will be able to sample award winning ales and ciders, and see how the pub is taking shape, as well as find out more about how they can help bring this vision to life.
The Good Intent still needs to raise a further £80,000 to complete the refurbishments and get the pub up and running to support charities and good causes. There are some fantastic rewards available in return for donations, including a voucher for £40 of drinks at The Good Intent for just a £25 pledge!Back to Blog
