Cause of the week – Beyond The Horizon

By 8th February 2016 2 Comments

Birmingham based service providing bereavement & loss counselling and support to children, young people and their families.

Beyond Horizon are unique in that they take the counselling to a venue near the child’s home address making it as accessible and safe as possible.

What is Beyond The Horizon?

Over the years Beyond The Horizon have held very successful Activity Days to bring families together to remember their loved ones, share memories and experiences, recharge themselves through holistic therapies, have some fun and create new memories together.

It is an opportunity to find wider support from other families who have similar experiences, a time to relax from the stresses of daily life and spend some happy time with their families.

If successful what are you going to use your LoveBrum funding for?

Beyond The Horizon will organise an event and advertise to bereaved families struggling after the loss of a significant person in their lives.  Arrange a venue, and a number of activities such as holistic therapies, children’s entertainer, creative experiences and drumming workshops etc.  Transportation will also be provided to help families on low income access the event and suitable refreshments and lunch.

All the charities that LoveBrum will highlight are phenomenal but Beyond the Horizon is particularly special, because, what BTH wont tell you (because they are so wonderfully modest) is just what a high standard of care, love and understanding they provide to each individual child who’s world is probably collapsing. Hundreds of professionals from different roles working with children will back this up. By voting for them, its not just about what they will do with the money (clearly amazing and desperately needed as mental health for children is severely lacking in funds), its the fact that they will deliver it in a way that is of an exceptionally high standard. Without a doubt, I will be voting for BTH and urge you to do the same. thanks x (p.s. I don’t work for them, not a trustee, but aware of their work)
